The bodies of two children were found missing in a deadly flood in Smithfield, North Carolina earlier this week.
On Thursday morning, rescuers found the body of 4-year-old Abraham Martinez Jr. in a stream near the Noise River, and 12 hours later they found his sister, 5-year-old Alex Castro, in shallow waters 30 yards from Johnston County.
It all happened Monday night as Vanessa Castro and her two children were driving their car, which had been blown off Galileo Road in Smithfield, near Raleigh, during a heavy torrential flood. The rising flood took the car away.
More than seven inches of rain fell overnight in Smithfield, according to rescue personnel, causing numerous roads in the area to flood.
