The flood in Northern Nigeria destroyed 5.3 thousand houses. The water was at least six areas of Kano state. Victims of the floods in the region last week were at least three people.
The specialists of the State Agency for emergency relief (SERERA) visited all affected areas to assess damage caused by natural disaster. On the basis of the experts ‘ report, the state government will provide financial assistance to the victims.
The national emergency management Agency (NEMA) on Saturday urged residents of the settlements located along the Niger river, to evacuate. In its statement, the Agency warned the public that due to intensive precipitation and high river water floods can happen at any time.
