Flooding in the Solomon Islands forced people to leave their homes

As a result of the floods caused by heavy rains, hundreds of people were forced to leave their homes in the province of Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands.

In the capital of Solomon Islands Honiara, located on the northern coast of the island of Guadalcanal, within 24 hours from 4 to 5 December, 97 mm of precipitation fell.

Many rivers left the banks, flooding the adjacent territories. Flooded hundreds of houses, damaged some bridges, damaged orchards.

The National Office for Disaster Management reported that a total of 575 people, including 386 children, were evacuated on Tuesday from the central part of the province after their homes were flooded.
