At least six people were killed and five others are missing as a result of floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains in Sri Lanka.
More than 5,000 more people were displaced from their homes, authorities said.
Rains hit six districts of the Indian Ocean island nation and many homes, rice paddies and roads were flooded.
Four people died in the floods and two others were killed in landslides, according to the government’s Disaster Management Center.
Another five people are missing from the floods and landslides.
