Floods hit south-central regions of Chile

Dozens of people evacuated their homes while others were left isolated after heavy rain caused landslides and flooding in the Bio Bio, Araucania, Los Rios and Los Lagos regions of Chile. About 15,000 people were left without electricity.

According to ONEMI, during a 20-hour period on June 01, 101.9 mm of rain fell in Makehué in the Padre las Casas commune of the Araucania region, 128.9 mm in Corral in Los Rios, and 77.8 mm in Concepción in Bío Bío.
