Floods in Sudan

As a result of floods caused by heavy rains, 23 people died in the Sudan since mid-July, about 8,900 residents were evacuated.

According to the European Commission for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (DG-ECHO), the whole natural disaster affected the lives of over 70 thousand people in seven of the provinces of Sudan. The most severely affected were the Kaysaala vilayats (28,210 people), West Kordofan (23,880) and Khartoum (10,080). Many houses were damaged, infrastructure was seriously damaged.

International humanitarian organizations sent food and basic necessities to the disaster area.
