Forest fires in France

Large forest fires swept the French Riviera, forcing the residents of the Saint-Tropez area to leave their homes.

The rapid spread of fire contributes to extreme heat and wind. In extinguishing the fire helicopters are involved.

Forest fires are raging in the French departments of Upper Corsica, Vaucluse, Alpes Maritimes and Var. Families from 200 houses are evacuated.

In the Department of War, four firefighters received minor burns.
