From the Andaman Islands due to cyclone “Vardah” to evacuate thousands of people

In the Bay of Bengal formed tropical cyclone “Vardah”, which is located 240 km from Port Blair on South Andaman island and 1040 kilometres from the city of Visakhapatnam in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Now the cyclone is moving North-West. The wind speed reaches 80 km/h, gusts up to 90 km/h. In the next few days is projected to further strengthening of the cyclone up to hurricane. Predicted heavy rains on Andamansky and Nicobar Islands. On December 12, the cyclone “Ward” approach to the coast of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

4 warships sent to the Andaman Islands to evacuate 1,400 tourists from the Islands of Havelock and Neil. Yet to evacuate people could not from the huge waves with a height of over 5 meters.
