Heavy rains caused floods in Japan

Heavy rains lashed the Japanese island of Kyushu. In the prefectures of Kumamoto and Miyazaki, the amount of precipitation was more than 100 millimeters per hour.


Total rainfall in some places reached 400-550 mm, which is unusually high.

In Kumamoto floods and landslides have killed five people and another was missing.
