Heavy rains caused major flooding in Michigan, USA

Locals in Orion Township say it was as if a rain cloud had parked exactly over their community and wouldn’t go away in any way.

“Our experts said 6 to 8 inches of rain fell within an hour, so there’s no storm drainage system that can handle that amount of water,” said Orion County Supervisor Chris Barnett.

The downpour did not affect the entire community, but its southern part, starting from Stadium Drive to the border with Auburn Hills. Residents in the Stonghate area couldn’t believe their eyes as a rushing torrent of water hit Dutton Road and crashed into several homes, knocking out basement windows.
