Heavy rains hit Georgia

The Georgian city of Rustavi went under water after a heavy rainfall. The situation was aggravated by a rockfall, which blocked the drainage system. The streets of the city, which is located 30 km from Tbilisi, turned into stormy rivers. It is reported that in places the water level has reached the height of the first floor.

Dozens of cars are stuck on the roads. On the streets of Leonidze and Meskhishvili vehicles are completely stopped. The highway passing through the city is closed. Water flooded the local market, known as the “Istanbul”. Many sellers are damaged goods. In Rustavi arrived a detachment of 80 rescuers. Their task is to evacuate people from flooded buildings.
