Hurricane Irma brought huge waves to the coast of Cuba

On the Malecon Embankment in Havana, the multi-meter waves that caused the hurricane Irma collapsed. The coastal zone and the adjacent streets of the capital of Cuba are blocked for vehicles. The airport of Havana was closed until noon on 11 September.

In some areas of the city, electricity is suspended, telephone communications are interrupted. Small floods are also reported. Ten thousand people were evacuated from the coastal areas of the city.
