Hurricane “Maria” is moving north along the Atlantic coast of the USA

Hurricane Maria of the second power category is moving north along the Atlantic coast of the United States, the National Hurricane Warning Center of the United States said on Sunday.

“Hurricane Maria” has weakened slightly as it moves north, it should be tracked along the coast of Carolina and the Mid-Atlantic coast, “the report said.

Now the center of the hurricane is in the Atlantic Ocean, 765 kilometers southeast of Cape Hatteras in North Carolina. The maximum constant wind speed is 165 kilometers per hour.

As a result of the hurricane, according to various estimates, more than 50 people died – in Puerto Rico, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Haiti and the US Virgin Islands, as well as in the Dominican Republic. At the time of passing over Puerto Rico, the hurricane reached the 4th category of danger.
