Ice jams caused floods in the US

In the northeastern United States, difficult weather conditions led to flooding. The combination of melting snow, temperate temperatures and heavy rain caused numerous ice jams in several northeastern US states, including Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts. The ice jams caused evacuation in some areas where water levels in the rivers are rising. The authorities closed a number of roads.
