An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded in the Indian Ocean at 89 km southeast of the city of Mataram (Lombok, Indonesia), reports the Altai-Sayan branch of the United Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to the operational processing of the Altai-Sayan branch of the Geophysical Service, the epicenter of the earthquake recorded at 02:10 Moscow time on Wednesday had coordinates -09.23 degrees south latitude and 116.60 degrees east longitude.
According to the intensity of concussions in the epicenter, the earthquake is estimated as “devastating.”
