About a thousand cars were trapped in a snow trap on a highway in the Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China.
On the national highway 109 traffic jams of 900 vehicles stretched for 60 km. In the snowy trap were 1.3 thousand people. Technical assistance, ambulance and police were sent to help the victims.
The county authorities provided passengers and drivers with water, food and oxygen bottles to help them overcome the mountain sickness.
The snowfall in the district of Amdo in the Nagchu district has not subsided since October 29.
