The alarm status Kerintji is located on the 3 rd level on a 4-point scale. Ash emissions occur 1-2 times per day and are accompanied by thick, yellowish smoke, which dissipates in the surrounding area to the East. Many residents living around the volcano, complain of cough and breathing problems.
