The skies were filled with clouds of smoke on Sunday after a large forest fire in the Beit Meir area, west of Jerusalem.
Planes flew over the city and dropped flame retardant in an attempt to extinguish the fire, which was exacerbated by high temperatures and strong winds.
More than 2,000 residents of nearby homes were reportedly evacuated. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told the security forces to evacuate the residents without question, regardless of any doubts they might have.
