In Ugbolu, Oshimili South Local Government District, Delta State, two people were killed by lightning in a heavy rainstorm.
At the time of the incident, two victims, a man and a woman, were in the store. They both died on the spot, and five others were seriously injured.
The man was a community evangelist, and the woman was reported to be a cassava farmer.
One of the survivors, Ms. Gladys Ockach, said she ran into a butcher shop owned by a certain Mrs. Ortega due to a heavy downpour when she was struck by lightning and blasted back out onto the street.
