As a result of a series of heavy rains and floods since July, a large mountain slope collapsed at about 6:30 p.m. on September 9, 2021 in Zhenba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, northern China.

National Highway 210 and the Yushui River were blocked by falling debris. One person suffered leg and rib fractures, and another was trapped under the rubble.

The victim was sent to the hospital for treatment, and the trapped man was successfully rescued and is now being treated.

Following the hazard, a local emergency response and rescue headquarters was established to conduct rescue and recovery operations. Diversion control has now been put in place on National Highway 210, and personnel from upstream and downstream risk areas have been dispatched to the village communities around the landslide. Emergency rescue efforts are underway in an organized manner.
