Over 3 million people evacuated in India due to cyclone

In connection with the approach of cyclone “Yaas” from the Indian states of Odisha and West Bengal, more than 3 million people have been evacuated.

According to the Odisha state government, more than 2 million people have been moved to temporary shelters, and more than 1 million have been evacuated in the neighboring state of West Bengal.

Now the cyclone is located in the Bay of Bengal, 40 km from the coast, it will land near the city of Balasor in the state of Odisha. The estimated wind speed will be 130-140 km / h with gusts up to 155 km / h.

The cyclone is expected to bring heavy rainfall, wind and possibly storm.
