Peru’s Sabancaya volcano erupts

In Peru, the eruption of the Sabancaya volcano (“Fire tongue”). The volcano pushes out nearly 4-kilometer-long smoke. Ash has already covered seven cities within a radius of 30 kilometers.

Authorities are asking people not to panic as no threat. Only when entering the street people are advised to wear protective masks.

Sabancaya is one of the most active volcanoes in the region. On its slopes thousands of people live.

Simultaneously with the Sabancaya 100 km from it, erupting another volcano Ubinas. This happens in Peru for the first time. Scientists call this unique phenomenon.
