118 people were injured as a result of several earthquakes in different parts of Iran over the past few days.
The first earthquake of magnitude 6.0, which occurred on December 1, and subsequent aftershocks of magnitude 5.0 and 5.1 resulted in destruction. As we already informed, the magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred at 05:32 Moscow time in the east of Iran. The center was 10 km deep. Epicenter was in the province of Kerman. At 05:43 and 06:35 Moscow time, at the same depth, there were two notable aftershocks of magnitude 5.0 and 5.1. Another significant aftershock with magnitude 5.1 occurred on December 2 at 13:47. 55 people were wounded, about 600 houses were completely destroyed and another 900 houses were damaged.
On December 2, an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred at 14:58 Moscow time in northwestern Iran. The heath lay at a depth of 38 kilometers. The epicenter was near the village of Sero in the province of Western Azerbaijan. 25 buildings were damaged in the earthquake.
On December 5, an earthquake measuring 4.9 occurred at 10:26 Moscow time in southwestern Iran. The outbreak was at a depth of 41 kilometers. The epicenter was near the city of Deyer in the province of Bushehr. 33 people were injured. The number of damaged houses has not yet been reported.
The same day an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred at 18:27 Moscow time in the north of Iran. The center was 10 km deep. The epicenter was near the town of Lengerud in the province of Gilan. 30 people were injured in the earthquake. The number of damaged houses has not yet been reported.
On December 6, two earthquake-aftershocks with a magnitude of 4.7 occurred at 08:53 and 10:57 Moscow time on the border of Iran and Iraq. Foci of earthquakes lie at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter of the first earthquake was near the village of Belul, Iraq. The epicenter of the second earthquake was near Kalantar village, Kermanshah province, Iran.
