A flash of harsh weather with tornadoes, strong winds and hail hit wide parts of the deep South on weekends. Damage and power outages were reported in several states, including Florida, while at least three people were killed, one each in Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Waves of thunder hit the areas from Texas to South Carolina when a powerful storm system swept through the states.
In Mississippi and Alabama, more than 45,000 consumers were left without electricity after power lines were damaged, with wind speeds reaching 121 km / h. A large tornado has been confirmed in southern Mississippi.
Many of the same areas affected by tornadoes were under flash flood warnings.
