Snow fell in Cameroon

Snow fell in the western region of the African country of Cameroon, according to local state broadcaster CRTV.

According to the channel, hail and, presumably, snow were recorded in the settlements of Bana and Baku on Thursday. The thickness of the snow cover was approximately 0.05 millimeters.

According to the mayor of Bana, Jean-Baptiste Sangha, this phenomenon is associated with climate change. After snow and hail fell, the roofs of several houses were broken, traffic was suspended, and a number of plantations were damaged.

Minister Delegate of Justice Jean de Dieu Momo also spoke about the bad weather situation. He, according to the publication Actu Cameroun, called the snow “a curse” that will “destroy agriculture.”
