The central districts of Magadan Oblast experienced snowfall, which came after a prolonged heat wave when temperatures reached forty degrees Celsius. It is unusual that snow fell in summer, especially in July and especially that it fell right after a period of intense heat.
This year’s heat wave was abnormal, with temperatures as high as plus 37 degrees. However, now the temperature has dropped sharply to almost zero degrees. In this regard, rescuers warned of possible heavy rainfall, which can cause roads to wash out. Residents of the region are advised to stay in the settlements and not to travel outside them.
