Snow in Iceland in mid-June

It may be the middle of June, but it nevertheless snowed in the Eastern Fjords of Iceland yesterday. According to the forecast, the cold weather will continue in the coming days.

Residents of Mjivatnssveit, Northeast Iceland, woke up yesterday morning and saw snow falling, and it was still snowing in Faskðursfjordur, East Fjords yesterday.

Uli Þór Árnason, a meteorologist with the Icelandic Bureau of Meteorology, said that while the snowfall was not heavy in the lowlands, many areas from Eyjafjörður Fjordur in the north to as far east as the Eastern Fjords received significant amounts of snow yesterday
