An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was recorded off the coast of the Solomon Islands, according to the US Geological Survey.
According to the service, the epicenter was 68 km north of the city of Auki. The outbreak was located at a depth of 4.2 km.
Information about casualties and destruction has not yet been received. The tsunami threat was not announced.
