Southern Europe will soon be desert

French climatologists predicted desertification resort regions in the South of Europe. The South of Europe, in particular Lisbon (Portugal) and Seville (Spain), according to scientists, will become part of a vast desert. This should happen by the end of the XXI century, and the cause is global warming.

The scientists will remain fair in the case if you continue the current pace of global warming. Then forests in the South of Europe, as experts suggest, will move to the North and in the mountains of the mainland and replaced by shrubs.

Otherwise, if the average annual temperature in the region of the end of the century will rise by no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius, the ecosystem of the region will continue. Scientists noticed that similar processes occur in the South-West of the USA.

In the beginning of 2016 forest fires in the Western United States showed a record scale. In 2015 burnt out of 40.5 thousand square kilometers of territories, which was a record in recent history of the United States.
