Storm Alex: more and more dead and missing in France

At least 20 people have gone missing, three have died, and villages in southeastern France still lack water and electricity.

In the Alps-Maritimes, the villages of Saint-Martin-Vesuby, Rockbillers, Breuil-sur-Roya and Tend are among the hardest hit after nearly a year’s rain fell in 10 hours from Saturday to Sunday, causing landslides and devastating flooding.

More than 560 residents have been evacuated by emergency services, 150 people have yet to be rescued.

The videos show rivers of mud, washed away houses, uprooted trees and abandoned cars almost completely covered in mud and debris.
