Ten people died in an avalanche in Iran

The number of victims of an avalanche north of the Iranian capital has risen to ten, the IRIB TV and radio company reported, citing rescuers.

“To date, nine bodies have been found in mountainous areas, and one more person has died in hospital,” the IRIB said in a statement.

In recent days, bad weather has been observed in many regions of Iran, including blizzards in the mountainous regions of the country – heavy snowfall in the northern part of the Iranian capital on December 25 led to an avalanche. There were also reported missing persons.
