Tropical cyclone “Dineo”, which struck Wednesday on the East coast of Mozambique, killed at least seven people. The storm brought heavy rains and powerful wind gusts of up to 160 km per hour, which led to flooding and damage to agricultural crops in a poor country in southern Africa.
According to local authorities, in the province of Inhambane, located 500 km North of the capital Maputo, from the storm affected 130 million people. As the result of violence of elements was destroyed about 20 thousand homes.
Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in the world, which is experiencing a financial crisis, are prone to flooding. The country is particularly vulnerable to flooding after a severe drought last year.
