For all the time of modern scientific observations this is the first serious eruption on Camballa. According to scientific data, a strong volcanic eruption occurred 600 years ago, there is information about its increased activity about 250 years ago, – scientists say.
Kambal is located in the territory of the South Kamchatka Federal Wildlife Refuge. For the volcano there is an “orange” code for aviation danger.
