A huge new crack opened on the Hawaiian volcano Kilauea, which on Sunday exploded with a storm of stones and lava with piercing sound.
The crack in which the magma is boiling and the clouds of steam and smoke are rising is already the 17th since the eruption of the volcano, on May 3. In the last ten days dozens of apartment buildings were destroyed, hundreds of people were forced to evacuate.
From the helicopter specialists have fixed that the crack reaches about 300 meters in length.
As the scientists note, from the new fracture, lava bombs weighing up to 45 kg are periodically thrown out at a height of up to 30 meters.
