Tornado damages homes in Choctaw County, Alabama

The tornado formed in Choctaw County in Silas, Alabama.

Choctaw County Sheriff Scott Lolly said the tornado had no fatalities or injuries, but many trees were destroyed and rooftops damaged on the southern outskirts of the city.

Medford Taylor, a resident of Silas, talked about how a storm swept through his backyard.

“The wind has gotten pretty strong,” Taylor said. “I was alone in the house and looked out the back window and saw him walk through the back yard. It didn’t damage the house much, but it did damage all my trees. ”

So far, five houses in the Silas area have reported damage.
