Tropical storm Linfa hits Vietnam

Tropical storm Linfa hit the Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces in Vietnam.

The storm brought new heavy rains to the central provinces of Vietnam. Ta Long in Qang Tri province recorded 210 mm of precipitation, while Quang Dien and A Luoi in Thua Thien-Hue received 182 mm of precipitation in the 24 hours before October 12. Central Vietnam suffers from heavy rainfall, and many provinces experience severe flooding and landslides.

15 people killed after 7 days of flooding Some parts of central Vietnam have received more than 1.5 meters of rain over the past week. Between 5 and 11 October, 1,520 mm of precipitation was recorded in Huong Lin in Kanchi province, and 1,888 mm in Luoi in Thua Thien Hue.

As of October 12, the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority (DMA) reports that severe flooding and landslides in the central region have killed at least 15 people, and 3 more have died in shipping accidents. As a result of floods and landslides, another 10 people went missing. Four people are still missing at sea.
