Twenty-four tea plantation workers seriously injured in two lightning strikes in West Bengal, India

Twenty-four tea plantation workers in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district were severely injured when lightning struck.

Seventeen women were struck by lightning at Diana in Banarhat district.

All of them suffered severe burns and were admitted to Mal Hospital.

It was raining, and suddenly the women, who were tearing down leaves, fell to the ground when lightning struck them.

Seven people were injured by lightning in Chamurchi in Dhupguri district around the same time.

They are also being treated at a local hospital.
