Two earthquakes have occurred near the Commander Islands have occurred

Seismologists on Kamchatka have registered two earthquakes which in several hours have happened to a difference in the Bering Sea near the Commander Islands.

“The first and strongest earthquake measuring 5,0 has occurred on Monday late at night local time. Epicenter of a seismoevent was at a depth of 63 km of 100 km from the village of Nikolskoye located on one of the Commander Islands — Bering Island. A power class of a seismoevent — 11,7” — the representative of service has told.

He has noted that the distance from epicenter to the regional center — the settlement of Ust-Kamchatsk of the Ust-Kamchatsky region of Kamchatka Krai — has made 140 kilometers, to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky — 480.

“The second earthquake has occurred in the same area on Tuesday early in the morning local time. The magnitude of a seismoevent has made 4,5, a power class — 10,5” — the interlocutor of the agency has noted.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kamchatka Krai have reported that earthquakes in settlements of the region weren’t felt. There are no victims and destructions. The threat of a tsunami didn’t appear.
