Snow fell in upper Kashmir on Sunday, causing a significant drop in temperature, MeT center officials in Srinagar said.
An official said that unseasonal snowfall was observed around Amarnath Cave and upper Sonamarg.
He said the unseasonal snowfall in the upper areas caused the daytime temperature to drop.
He said, however, that the weather may begin to improve as of tonight in the valley, but there is a possibility of late-night showers in the Jammu area.
“There are also reports of snowfall in the Drassa mountain ranges in Union Territory of Ladakh,” he added.
