Venice’s canals dried up in just one night

Due to the unprecedented low tide, the famous canals of Venice almost dried up yesterday: traditional gondolas and boats were washed ashore when the water level reached its minimum, creating an unusual landscape in the city on the water.

Due to the combined effects of the full moon and high pressure, the canals dried up, making it difficult for townspeople to move in much of the historic city.
