Volcano Ebeko threw a column of ash to a height of 4500 meters

Ashes to a height of up to 4.5 kilometers threw the Ebeko volcano on Paramushir on Wednesday, the Sakhalin Oblast Russian Emergencies Ministry reports.

The volcanic eruption occurred on October 24 in the morning local time. Ash pole reached a height of 4500 meters, it spread east of the crater of the volcano.

No ash has been recorded in the nearby city of Severo-Kurilsk, there is no smell of hydrogen sulfide. There are no threats to the life of the population.

Ebeko volcano, whose height is 1156 meters, is located in the northern part of the Vernadsky ridge, 7 kilometers north-west of the city of Severo-Kurilsk. It is a complex stratovolcano with several craters.
