In Nigeria, children die from cholera outbreaks

In northeastern Nigeria, at least three children were killed and another 27 were hospitalized as a result of a cholera outbreak. Such data was reported by Xinhua, referring to local authorities.

As specified, an outbreak of the disease was recorded in the school of Gombe in Nigeria. Currently, the situation is under control. People affected by the epidemic receive free medical treatment and medicines from the state.

Cholera is a dangerous infectious disease, the infection of which occurs through water. Symptoms of the disease are very similar to those of food poisoning. Such infectious diseases constantly threaten the inhabitants of Nigeria, as they do not have access to clean water. In April of this year, 13 people died of cholera in the state of Yobe, and in May 12 more people died as a result of cholera infection in Adamava state.
