A U.S. nuclear submarine collided with an unknown underwater object in the South China Sea

The American nuclear submarine USS Connecticut (Seawolf type) collided with an unknown underwater object in the South China Sea on October 2.

Different injuries and wounds were received by 11 people. It was also separately noted that Connecticut did not collide with any other submarine.

According to official American assurances, the boat was damaged (but the reactor compartment was not damaged and there were no radiation leaks) and was returning to the base for repairs.
