5 unusual predictions of Professor Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking believed that humans could improve genes through technology. He feared that superhumans, among other things, might contribute to the destruction of our planet.

Stephen Hawking was an amazing man. He had no reason to stay alive because his body was not functioning and he was in constant pain. Yet he didn’t give up. And he showed the world that there are no limitations in life. There are no limitations except the ones you put on yourself. Stephen Hawking made a great contribution to science and physics. Unfortunately, Hawking spent most of his life in a wheelchair, as he was diagnosed with a fatal disease – motor neurone disease – at the age of 21.

He was told he would live only two years. He defied all odds and lived more than 50 years. His body was not fully functional when he died, but his mind was perfectly intact. Stephen Hawking in general is famous for having an exceptional brain. Stephen Hawking solved the mystery of black holes back in the 1970s. He proposed a theory explaining that black holes are not exactly black. Moreover, he believed that the size of a black hole is constant and never changes.

Let’s take a look at the statements Stephen Hawkings made during his stay on planet Earth:

1) At some point people will have to leave the Earth:

Stephen Hawking suggested that humans will relocate to another planet. According to his theory, humanity would eventually fall victim to a catastrophe that would lead to extinction. He believed that our beloved planet will one day disappear, as numerous asteroids crash into it from time to time. In general, Hawking understood many other possible threats, such as artificial intelligence, climate change, viruses, and nuclear war. So he wanted us to find planets where we could settle down and give humanity a new home.

2) The Age of Artificial Intelligence:

Stephen Hawking feared that one day machines would take over the world. He feared that the development of artificial intelligence would lead to a new form of life that would surpass humans. So he asked people to be very careful with artificial intelligence.

3) Changing ecological conditions on Earth:

Stephen Hawking considered global warming one of the greatest threats to life on the planet. Hawking warned of a so-called tipping point when global warming would become unchanging. He mentioned that after the “tipping point,” human survival on the planet would become impossible.

4) Arrival of extraterrestrial beings on planet Earth:

Stephen Hawking mentioned that aliens could cause us harm. He believes they will cause destruction on planet Earth and kill us all. Some of his comments make sense because we have no idea what kind of creatures live in space. Future or present generations will have to face them as scientists are constantly trying to make contact with extraterrestrial beings.

If aliens visit us, the result will be the same as when Columbus landed in America, which did not turn out well for Native Americans.

5) The birth of superhumans:

Stephen Hawking believed that humans could improve their genes with technology. He feared that superhumans would destroy the Earth.

Perhaps laws would be passed banning genetic engineering with humans. But some people would not be able to resist the temptation to improve human characteristics such as memory, resistance to disease, and longevity.
