A tick is found that is 99 million years old

German scientists found in a piece of amber mite, wrapped in a web, reports National Geographic. The find was made several months ago in Myanmar. And only recently experts have found out that the tick is wrapped in thin threads. Specialists came to the conclusion that the hero of their research first fell into the web, and then into the wood tar, which later turned into amber.

According to estimates made by the researchers, in which the mite was found, fell into the ground about 99 million years ago. Inside the stone, also found feathers – apparently, the mite before the death feasted on the blood of a predatory feathered dinosaur.
