Airbus Helicopters has introduced a new aerodynamic scheme for helicopters that can fly at speeds of more than 400 km / h. The development of the device is carried out within the framework of the program Clean Sky 2.
The first flight of the demonstrator called Racer (Rapid And Cost-Effective Rotorcraft) is scheduled for 2020.
The device will be equipped with two RTM322 engines. Racer will have a body made of metal and composite. The project also involved specialists from the German Aviation and Cosmonautics Center.
