China has opened the world’s longest escalator

China has opened the world’s longest escalator, designed to deliver tourists to the observation platform at the Grand canyon of Enshi in Hubei province in Central China. The construction length is 688 meters.

The escalator is located inside the channel, constructed of concrete and wood. In order to seamlessly integrate the design into the surrounding landscape, along the construction of planted grapes.

The cost of one trip on the escalator is about 3 dollars. The escalator will be able to carry 7,3 thousand tourists per hour. The authors of the project believe that the annual escalator will use more than 600 thousand people.
