German company E-volo announced the imminent arrival of the new passenger multicopter Volocopter 2X. This device, which will be launched in the series, will be able to take off vertically and carry two passengers. The Volocopter 2X was presented at the AERO exhibition in Friedrichshafen.
Multicopter will support fast change of batteries, which will allow to prepare the device for flight in a matter of minutes.
While the Volocopter 2X will be used as a flying taxi with a pilot. In the future, upon receipt of appropriate permissions, the device will be able to fly autonomously or be remotely controlled.
The maximum takeoff weight of the Volocopter 2X is 450 kg. He can lift the load up to 150 kg.
The maximum speed is 100 km / h. The flight time is up to 27 minutes at a speed of 50 km / h. The apparatus has 18 rotors.
The company also announced plans to develop a four-seat version of Volocopter.
