One of the founders of SolarCity, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tesla Motors Elon Musk has unveiled in California a new type of roof tiles, which apparently does not differ from the usual, but at the same time performs the function of solar panels.
New tile can resemble the usual relief tiles, slate of the French slate, tile, Tuscan style, any other tile. Every single tile looks opaque if it is viewed from earth, but from above it becomes clear that it’s glass, allowing sunlight to reach hidden in her cells. According to Elon musk, the new tile is more durable than traditional, at the same time it provides better isolation, generates electricity, and its installation will cost no more than traditional materials.
As stated by Musk, receiving orders for generating electricity tiles will begin soon.
