In the US state of Tennessee, a fisherman has caught a huge mascinong pike. It is reported by WVLT-TV.
Luke Herndon from Kingsport was fishing from a kayak at the Davy Crockett Reservoir. He had to fight a pike for about 30 minutes before being able to drag it into the boat.
The length of the fish was one meter. Although not enough to break the state record, the Tennessee Natural Resources Agency found it necessary to congratulate the angler on Facebook.
Maskinong Pike lives in North America. Representatives of this species reach 1.8 meters in length and weigh up to 32 kilograms. The maximum life expectancy is 30 years.
